Heavy Duty Jeep Wrangler 87-95 YJ Steering Box Relocation Mount

This Heavy duty steering box mount is designed to fit 87-95 Jeep YJ.  The mount is fabricated from 1/2" steel.  This mount moves the steering box 1" forward, and bolts into the factory holes in the frame.

In many high-steer applications with spring over and shackle reversal, there is an interference problem with the pitman arm hitting the tie-rod.  This happens when the drivers side tire flexes up, and can occur due to a few different reasons.  Many shackle reversal kits move the front axle forward a small amount.  Also, some high-steer arms are longer, and require a longer pitman arm to achieve full steering.  This causes interference between the two.

If you use our forged 2" tall high-steer arms, a stock YJ/TJ 5.5" long pitman arm, and keep the axle in the factory location,  you will not need the  steering box mount.  However, if you are even thinking about a shackle reversal, and moving the axle forward an inch or two, the box mount is a great start to your project. WARNING: If you are running an aftermarket bumper, be sure there is room to move the steering gear 1" forward.
